CAROLINE KENYON

A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T:

My name is Caroline Kenyon; I’m seventeen years old and I’m from Denver, Colorado. My love for photography began at a young age. Since my mom is a photographer, it has been a significant part of my life. My freshman year, I decided to take a photography course to hone in on my work. I explored many realms of photography including digital, film as well as mixed media. I began portraiture my junior year for a project: a typology. The assignment was to produce ten to fifteen pictures that were interconnected. At first, the task seemed daunting. Regardless, I set up a black backdrop in my garage, found some white paint and began to photograph a few of my friends. I ended up creating some of my best work. The black and white portraits (found under B & W) sparked my love for portraiture. As I continued portraiture, I began videography (one of my edits can be found on the home page). Even though I am new to the field, it is a growing passion of mine. I have produced a few music videos, including videos for Tara Lyons as well as the acapella group at Claremont Mckenna College.
